Our Approach
At Sankofa Learning Center, we believe in providing a unique educational experience that honors African heritage while incorporating proven educational methodologies.
We combine an African-centered approach with Montessori practices:
- The African-centered approach in education aims to instill values, traditions, and diverse ways of thinking in young people, helping to increase self-knowledge and awareness.
- Montessori practices are integrated into our curriculum as an educational tool.
We offer a comprehensive program for young learners, designed to foster their growth, curiosity, and cultural awareness
Our 2025-2026 Primary Program (Ages 3-5)
Our primary program is tailored for children aged 3-5, providing them with a full-day educational experience in a supportive and enriching environment.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30AM – 3:30 PM After care 3:30PM-5:00PM
New Students: A transition week with shorter days will be provided at the beginning.
Annual Tuition: Annual tuition is $14,000 for a 10-month academic year, with optional aftercare services offered at $2,000.
We believe in affordable, high-quality care and offer an in-house sliding scale and accept Care4Kids.

Important Note
To ensure the health and safety of all children in our care, we adhere to state and local health regulations regarding immunizations.
Children must have up-to-date vaccines and yearly flu shots, as required by the Office of Early Childhood (OEC) and the state of Connecticut. Religious exemptions are no longer accepted.
